It was great meeting you last night, getting the chance to check out LOL/SOL and learning more about the work y'all are doing in Oakland. If you're available sometime in the coming weeks, I'd love to interview you on the topic of mapping and designing a community-wide wireless network.
My mentor on this project, Georgia Bullen, just gave a presentation last week at an FCC conference on resilient networks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D6rwfpihsjUY&feature=3Dyoutu.be
Hers was the only presentation that day talking about on the ground issues and people. What they've done in Red Hook can totally be done here in Oakland if we all work together and, most importantly, put community needs as the guiding principle for developing technological solutions :)
